Printing

American Carton Company’s printing department features offset printing presses capable of printing up to 8-colors plus coating – conventional or UV. Achieving color consistency to ensure that cartons printed this week will match cartons produced months or years before is a hallmark of ACC’s dedicated professionals.

ACC’s 8-color and 6-color offset printing presses – with coaters – offer excellent color reproduction. Consistent color is achieved through using press automation and following color management techniques that have been certified by industry experts: G7 Master Printer, GMI Prime, and ISO 9001:2015.

UV printing capabilities offer even more possibilities for ACC’s customers to print special effect varnishes, to print on non-absorbent substrates like foil paperboard and to apply durable specialized coatings (e.g., high gloss, matte, textured, etc.).

UV vs Conventional Printing

UV printing is different from conventional printing in many ways. It is still ink on paper but the ink dries through a completely different process. Instead of having solvents in the ink that evaporate into the air and absorb into the paper, UV inks dry through a photomechanical process — that is, UV inks dry instantly when exposed to ultraviolet lights. The advantages to this are greater than you may think.
